Welcome! I am the Research Director at North Star Policy Action (NSPA). Before joining NSPA, I served as the Senior Research Specialist at the Council on Criminal Justice and as an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Simmons University. My research, focused at the intersection of public policy, racial inequality, and American democracy, has been published in Perspectives on Politics, Political Behavior, Policy Studies Journal, Du Bois Review, State Politics and Policy QuarterlyJournal of Health Politics, Policy, and Law, among others. It has also been covered in media outlets including The Washington Post, Minnesota Public Radio, and Boston Public Radio. My book, The State You See: How Government Visibility Creates Political Distrust and Racial Inequality, was published in 2023 by The University of Michigan Press.

I received my Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Minnesota and my B.A. in Political Science from Loyola University Chicago.
